Are you a roller coaster girl? I love the excitement, the twists and turns, the cork screws and loops, and the fast pace of riding a real roller coaster.
I’ll never forget when I once dreamed of a roller coaster ride…..
“As the ride started, I found my seat beat wasn’t snapped. I screamed to my pastor, ‘Help! HELP ME!’ Apparently, that pastor was driving the ride, and he slowed down the coaster so I could buckle up. I tucked my Bible away in a front seat compartment. It was a scary and thrilling adventure, but I was on my way.”
I remember wondering what this dream might mean. Like so many of my dreams, I tucked it away in my heart and lived my life. However, the following months proved to be like a roller coaster ride, and I questioned when the ride would be over. What do you think this meant?
To me, the roller coaster seemed a symbol of my life’s journey – fast, fun, exciting, but not always stable. I suppose it represented my need to be safe regardless of the ride’s twists and turns – that God would care for me. Isn’t it cool how God uses such personal dream symbols that relate to our life?
I am so glad that no matter what – I can be secure IN HIM. “But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.” Proverbs 1:33
P.S. For the last two summers, I’ve had the good fortune of visiting the Carowinds amusement park with my teen daughter and her friends. Hope you enjoy the roller coaster pics. I sure had fun riding those coasters.
RIDE ON with God!
