I’m glad to share, but first, I must tell you how I stumbled upon this recipe.
One day a friend arrived at my house with a lovely apple pie. I couldn’t stop raving about how d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s it was! She blushed with a thank you, and with a little prodding – she embarrassingly revealed her secret.
It was a frozen pie cooked in her own pie plate.
Simple, easy, beautiful presentation and absolutely mouth-watering wonderful! Why in the world would I ever go to that much trouble again to prepare a homemade dessert ?
So here’s my “perfect pie made easy” recipe:
1. Buy yourself the most magnificent pie plate you can find. Right now I’m using a Pampered Chef pie plate, but I plan to buy some hand-crafted pie dishes soon from the NC Seagroves Potters.
2. Go to your nearest grocery store, pick out the best frozen pie you can, and spare no expense. You want to make it look good.
3. Remove the frozen pie from the store-bought packaging, and place it in your own pie plate. Then follow the baking and serving directions as indicated on the box.
4. Serve like it was YOURS, and don’t tell unless you are asked.
Always remember, Mrs. Smith’s can be yours. Mrs. Pauls’ can be yours. Even Marie Callendar’s can be YOURS.
Just substitute YOUR-NAME and make it so. That’s why Mrs. Smith’s can be Mrs.__________ .
So go ahead and fill in the blanks with YOUR-NAME, and have a blessed and happy thanksgiving holiday.
P.S. If you are asked, be sure to smile as you quietly give away the secret. This perfect pie can be a holiday life-saver to moms-in-distress about home-made desserts. ;-D
p.s.s. The winner of my “what are you THANKFUL for contest?” is Kevin. Thanks to all for your participation.
