Happy New Year Beautifully-Made friends!
Now that the holidays are settling down, I love to look back at all my Christmas cards reading everyone’s reflections on the past year. However, I must tell you… there was this one card that caught my attention the minute I opened the envelope. It read, “Rejoicing in New Birth 2013.”
Obviously, this was a Christmas card that celebrated the birth of Christ. Yet, it had a different implication, a prophetic word for this coming year. I might have expected this message, especially since I received the card from Chuck Pierce and Glory of Zion Ministries.
The front picture depicted camels crossing a bridge with the Hebrew year 5773. On the left side these words proclaimed, “The Camels Came. They Are Coming Again New!” I thought now why did the camels come in the first place? What does it mean that they are coming again new?
Inside the card were the words that this year was a BRIDGE year, from our past to our future, from recovery to wholeness. Still, I didn’t understand, but I gotta tell you… it sure intrigued me.
And so, during the holidays I fixated on what this message might mean. I even went to my dream dictionary to research the word camels. There, I discovered that camels are symbolic of endurance because of their ability to go for long periods without water. They also reference a long journey.
Maybe too much deep thinking during Christmastime???
Could it be that even though Jesus came that many of us that still struggle with life here on earth? It’s like we are dry and weary camels in the desert, enduring the fallen world, striving to step forward. We believe in who Jesus is, but have yet to receive our freedom and future. We think we’ll always be where we are now. We can’t see ourselves changed.
I don’t know about you, but I am ready to cross that bridge. Suddenly Chuck’s words in his card make sense:
“We are living in the most changing of times!
May you become stable and find your footing to prosper.
Never stop thinking CHANGE! Embedded in your promise is both stability and change!
We must not change just to change, but keep stable
as we rise to new levels in the midst of a world that becomes darker and darker.
You are LIGHT! May your LIGHT shine brightly!
Understanding what is essential, and what is not,
allows one to effectively master the infiltration of new revelation.
We must never just conform to the shifting world around us!
He came to make us peculiar and uncommon to the world.
The whole concept of repentance is based upon the changing of your mind.
The joy of our future is dependent upon our thinking changing to that of our Lord’s.
Change produces opportunity. May you have many opportunities in days ahead.
Don’t be afraid of change; we must learn to change into an ally!
We must change and adapt to changing times without shifting our core values and the boundaries assigned
for our prosperity!”
I want to cross that bridge. I am ready for change. Are you?
Thank God that Jesus came.
Thank God that He is coming again new.
Thank God for renewed passion, purpose and perspective.
“But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Wishing you a blessed year of good changes in 2013. For this year I have a mental picture of camels crossing my bridge bringing gifts of God’s wholeness, wisdom and steps for my future. What are those camels bringing you?
