Have you ever wondered how you can pray with amazing results? It’s so simple anyone can do it. All you have to do is start practicing with your prayer darts.
I loved playing darts with my dad and my grandpa when I was a little girl. At first, I didn’t know how, but they showed me where to stand, how to throw my darts, and before long, I was doing it with ease. Sometimes I hit the dart board and scored points. Once in a while I landed the bull’s-eye, but as I grew and practiced, I became better at it.
Well, you can grow in your ability to pray just like I improved while playing with darts. I’m sure you’ve heard of using your shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the enemy. That’s a defensive approach, but how about using prayer darts as an offensive strategy to penetrate the enemy’s camp?
A prayer dart is simply an inspired petition that is empowered by the Holy Spirit. It can be used to either take back what the enemy stole or bring blessings into your life. With little effort, you can get really good at throwing these darts and here are few simple tips:
- Start where you are, start small and make it a habit. Prayer is a learned skill that develops as you do it.
- Quiet yourself and ask God what to pray for and how. The Bible tells us that His sheep hear His voice ; so practice praying what you think you hear to build your listening confidence.
- Don’t be shy about speaking to the mountain in His name.Every believer has authority over the works of the evil one because of what was accomplished at the cross. You don’t have to stomp or shout, just pray from your heart, say your request and trust God.
- Make a point to pray outside of your needs for God will bless you as you as you bless others.
- And finally, thank Him for that answer, and let that praise flow from your lips.
God will teach you many things as you pray. You’ll learn the difference between praying with your ideas versus practicing with your prayer darts using God’s guidance. Only God knows what will work, what won’t, and why. Your teacher will be the incredible Holy Spirit. He will give you the exact words for a Bull’s Eye prayer releasing His power into any given situation. And when you do, it will be so stimulating because you will know for sure that… it was Him.
You can be that little prayer warrior who is friend to a great God. Don’t be discouraged about making a mistake; just ask God what He wants you to learn for next time. Don’t worry about prayers that seem too big either. All you need is love. So step out, girlfriends, knock on the door of His heart. Pray for your lost keys, a parking space, a better job, your spouse, your children, and any other thing you need… and listen and obey. Then, challenge yourself to pray for the bigger stuff that will transform lives.
Just imagine millions of prayer darts from all of God’s people hovering hope all around our world. It could happen for prayer seems to work best when you are intentionally childlike. This means you don’t have to know everything and you don’t have to carry those burdens. You just have to pray the need sending it to the cross for your Savior to handle. After all, He is the big guy.
I can’t tell you how many times I have felt inadequate and didn’t know what to say, but I opened my mouth and God filled it. How incredible that God in His love honored my mustard seed faith, and at times even worked miracles and healings. Often things didn’t happen as I thought, but I kept practicing. All over the world people are desperately crying for answers; and make no mistake, He will also use you… for I am living proof that the power of prayer is within your grasp.
Are you ready to get started? You can pray on your own or you might consider joining a small prayer team. That’s how I learned. Someone invited me to a prayer meeting and I was so thrilled with the results that I returned each week. Truly God was doing this work through me, and not in my own strength. You could even consider starting your own prayer team.
I am confident that if you will make yourself available, He will empower you, and you too, will desire to pray more frequently and keep coming back… for more love, more power and more of Him.
Believe me, prayer is the most exciting ministry in the Body of Christ. Nothing happens without being birthed in prayer first. So keep practicing with those prayer darts. Humbly fly them in faith and they will produce. With God’s help the power of His love will be released to a lost and hurting world. So go for it, prayer warriors. Go forth with God and you’ll hit that Bull’s-eye again and again.
