Have you ever been in a situation you thought impossible? There’s this one sitution that’s the story of my life…..
I remember sitting in the doctor’s office with my husband. I remember those definitive words so clearly, “Mrs. Koob, I am sorry, but you are just not going to have a baby. You need to come up with another plan.”
Big tearlets streamed down my face as I plainly told the doctor NO-WAY. I’m sure they thought I was delusional. They did everything to discourage me, “Mrs. Koob, it’s not going to happen. It is impossible.”
But I knew the Lord told me that I would have a child! I knew this down deep in my heart; and yet, it was so hard to believe. I was trying to keep my faith, but feeble and frail it was – especially against the odds and nay-sayers.
Did I really hear from God? Or was it my own thoughts that I was hearing?
Hopefully you know what’s it’s like to believe God for something too.
Hopefully, you recognize that there’s a process that we all go through when you plunge into the not-possibles.
Hopefully, you know that you can’t self-will something to happen.
BUT YOU CAN SURRENDER.
One of the requirements for faith to believe God is to surrender. It doesn’t necessarily mean you stop trying, but you do check-in with His plans. Sometimes it means letting go. Sometimes it means stepping out. Sometimes it means a change of course. Sometimes it means standing still and patiently waiting. It just depends.
In my case, I knew that God was calling me to continue trying to conceive. Although I never breathed a word to anyone, I even had a dream about it 20 years prior. He also spoke to me again confirming that dream years later. I still can’t believe I continued to doubt, but I did.
No matter where you are and what you are believing for always remember….. GOD LOVES YOU AND desires to birth something wonderful in your life.
So is it impossible? Or NOT?
With regards to having children, I love hearing those amazing adoption stories where God’s plan was awesome. You can be confident that He is working everything out for good for those that love Him.
If you haven’t done so yet, check-in with the Creator God who cherishes you.
