I was working full time at that Big Blue company preparing an executive presentation for a Senior Vice president. I was working over 80 hours a week dodging technical problems right and left. Miraculously I finished the day before, but I was exhausted.
And the next morning, guess what? I OVERSLEPT! While I rushed to the airport, I knew I wasn’t going to make my flight. “Oh no! What am I going to do?”
At first I selfishly prayed, “Oh Lord, please delay that plane. Please!” Time was running out and I still had to find a parking space. Plus, I had to carry all my luggage, 2 computers, 1 briefcase and a purse to check in. Even if I could run to the gate, I knew I wouldn’t make it. It was simply impossible. “Please Lord – I need a miracle”, and started praising Him anyhow.
As I parked my car across the terminal entrance, I suddenly spotted a bellhop. Surely it was worth a chance. “HEY THERE!”, I shouted. “PLEASE COME OVER HERE. I NEED YOUR HELP”. Surprizingly, the man ran to my aid. He swiftly loaded my cargo on his dolly and we quickly strutted through the security checkpoints arriving at the gate just in time.
I couldn’t believe it. I was going to make this plane. It was a miracle! I had to share about God using him to help me, but knew I had to do it with more than words.
So I opened up my wallet, took out some cash for a big tip and I thanked him. “You know, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your help. I asked for God’s help and you are that answer to my prayers. I just want to bless you with this gift in JESUS’ NAME!”
I was shocked at what happened next as tears ran down his face.
He shared his sentimental story,“I just accepted Jesus as my savior yesterday, and He told me that He would take care of me if I would just trust Him.” I think I was more shocked than this gentleman – for this was a double miracle. WOW!
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
God saved me. God saved him. We prayed. We praised. Then, the Lord used each of us to help each other. Thanks for the faithful LIFT OFF GOD!
