Recently I discovered a small growth on a private part of my body believing God would heal it. When I received prayer, I felt Jesus said, “It was gone.” But when it didn’t happen right away, I have to admit- I was tempted with fear, questioning my faith, doubting God and feeling a little out of sorts. However, maybe God was interested in a different kind of growth?
During those next days there was a stuggle in my soul, and I needed to encourage myself. And so I did with some of these thoughts:
1. I am preparing for a test. I need to learn and cooperate with Jesus my Teacher.
“For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined.” Psalm 66:10
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
2.I am never tempted beyond what I’m able.
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” I Corinthians 10:13
3. God really loves me and nothing can separate me from that love.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Romans 8:35
4. God is always with me. He will never leave or forsake me.
“…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Matthew 28:20a
“For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5b
5. God will work everything out for good for me because I love Him.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
6. God is preparing me for something bigger and better.
“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ Matthew 25:23
7. God is faithful!
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
Normally, I would have gone to the doctor immediately; however, because I was already on my way to a Dunamis healing conference at PRMI in Black Mountain, I didn’t. It’s amazing how God answers prayer! When I returned home from the conference, I found that growth unchanged. Given Jesus’ words to me, I continued to believe. And you know what?
After a few days, it began to subside and is now completely gone! While I need to keep a close eye on it, I suspect it was a cyst? I know I can’t explain all this healing stuff- and I know that for some people it is sometimes not that easy. However, I do believe it’s good when you say to yourself, “Be encouraged for God hears the prayers of His people!”
Maybe God wants to grow me in a different way than I thought?
Maybe God wants to teach me that no mountain is too big or high for Him?
I am so glad I can go to the Moutain of God.
He is calling me and you there today.
P.S. While I’m happy to report that I am just fine, I did hear a bad report recently from a dear friend regarding breast cancer. I’m praying for her and believing God for the best. Let us pray for a cure for her and for all the people whom this disease has impacted. I know the Lord cares, and so do I.
